Inspired by Philip Tome’s book, Jack Paluh portrays the story of this Eastern Woodland Native American whitetail hunt in his painting, "Indian Creek Ambush."  The wolf packs drive the whitetail deer into a narrowing creek bed.  The timber wolves end their chase and become witnesses, as woodland archers anticipate the moves of the pack, set their ambush, and take over the hunt.
